About The Artist

My
reviews include "National award winning artist, unlimited by subject matter"
and "one of ten nationally recognized scratchboard artists". I have also been
described as "an impressionistic watercolorist who stretches the medium to its
fullest potential". I've been juried into the Tennessee Watercolor Society shows
three years consecutively, earning the "Artist Plaque" my third year of membership.
I repeatedly received honors of "Award of Excellence", 1st place in Watercolor,
1st place in Graphics and numerous "Best in Show" ribbons. "Ballet" was chosen,
unsolicited for the cover of "Artists of Tennessee" and the "Sports in Action"
series won the distinction of "Best of Show" in the 1996 & was accepted
by the 1996 Olympic Committee, 1st and 3rd place in watercolor in 1997 and 1st
place in 1998 in the National League of American Pen Women show and 2nd place
in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, American Heritage
Competition. In 1999, "Women unity of Spirit & Purpose" and "The
Constitution" both won 1st place in National Society Daughters of the American
Revolution national competitions.
The prestige has been very gratifying.
However, it is even more worthwhile when there is an opportunity to use my talent
to benefit deserving charitable organizations and worthwhile projects. My current
projects include a fundraiser for the Knights of Columbus 80% of "Rays
of Faith" poster sales, the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, 50% of the proceeds from the sale of the "Sports
in Action" prints are being donated to the foundation for research and patient
programs. The "Clowning Around", "Nick" & "Nichole"
prints will benefit the DAR supported schools. Visit the causes page to see
more.
It is my intention to work with organizations
with a purpose. With art, I try to enhance ones perception of life. I am committed
to utilizing the gift of my talent for greater goals. I wish everyone could
experience what a joy it is to create something beautiful. When I step back
from a painting and wonder how I could have possibly created it, that's when
I know it is "right". It's the gift I receive each time I finish a work. I firmly
believe that a true gift is best received when it is shared. That is why I work
with the charities. I hope that through my art I can bring to others the joy
I felt in creating it.
Commissions support my fundraising habit. I can work from photographs and with any subject
matter. Contact me by e-mail to discuss details. Many of my originals are scheduled
to be printed as limited edition lithographs, let me know your favorite or reserve
yours now. |
